ZamZam Sounds

On April 5th, we salute a Portland-based record label that has garnered huge respect from the global dub music scene. Tracy Harrison (a.k.a. Polygon Press) and Ezra Ereckson (a.k.a. E3) have been running ZamZam sounds (7” singles) and its companion label Khaliphonic (occasional 12” singles and EPs) from their home in SE PDX since 2012. Tracy and Ezra realized an ideal concept with ZamZam : put out limited runs of music in 7” form only, delivered in hand-printed packaging that evoked heritage, mystery adn the numinous.

As the great artist and renaissance man Badawi noted, ZamZam Sounds ranged “from the rootical to the experimental, steppers to dubstep, 90s to the present. (Tracy and Ezra) have played across the UK and Europe repping the sounds & artists they love.”
